Places of interest on Tenerife
Tenerife, the island of perpetual spring, where the temperature rarely drops below 18º centigrade. Dominated from the air by the massive peak of Teide which rises to 3,718m, you will find great contrasts between the green and fertile north and the more arid south.
There is much to do, apart from marvelling at the great natural beauty of this island. An abundance of Golf courses offers a challenge for golfers of all levels and for sun worshippers you will find any number of beaches ranging from volcanic rock to golden sand. Lovers of wildlife should not miss Loro Parque with it’s collection of parrots and it’s new Planet Penguin, visit Parque Las Aguilas to see free flying condors, eagles and other birds of prey, or why not take a boat trip to view the Whales and Dolphins.
For locations see maps page.

| Icod de los Vinos (1 and 1/2 hours drive, near Puerto de la Cruz) | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Situated in the north of the island 15 minutes from Puerto de la Cruz. This attractive little town is home to 'El drago milenario' believed to be over 1000 years old. It's tree age is unknown but is certainly the largest at 16 metres tall and 6 metres in girth.. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Masca ( 1 and 1/2 hours drive) | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Located on the north western peninsula, this is sometimes called the forgotten village. At one time the only access was via the sea and a long trek up the barranco. Today you can reach it by car, via a series of zig-zag bends still not a journey for the faint hearted. Organised coach trips will take you there and you can then walk down to the sea and take a boat back to Los Gigantes, but take note this is no Sunday ramble, the path is steep and rocky and should not be undertaken lightly. |

Activities on Tenerife
Eating out in Southern Tenerife A very popular pastime on Tenerife as the prices are so reasonable and with such a wide mix of cultures on the island you will find something to suit all tastes. Along the cost in the tourist areas you will find the restaurants cater more to British tastes, but if you venture inland a little you can still find authentic Canarian cusine. If fish is your dish then head for the fishing villages of Los Abrigos or Las Galletas where you can eat the catch of the day in view of the sea. Canary Islas recommends: Bar Colibri, Las Galletas - the locals eat here which is always a good recommendation. Typically canarian food then Canary Islas recommends: La Dama Rosa - again full of locals- just off the main road between Adeje and Guia de Isora not far from the Adeje roundabout. Restaurante Las Chafiras, located on Las Chafiras centre. Take the road leading from Golf del Sur towards San Miguel and you will find it on your left.
